The architects from Berey Chen Studio have come up with original design for a house in Texas which they entitled Edgeland House and which purpose is integration with the sarounding landscape.

The triangular green roof of the house is covered with vegitation which gives it a nice feeling of harmony with the nature and the shape of the roof is influenced by the ancient art of origami.

The structure of the building with green roof is based on one of the most common shapes for a home of American Indians. This fact gives the opportunity to use the soil effectivly in the heating and cooling of the house maintaining warm comfort throughout the whole year.

Edgeland House is s divided into two separate pavilions for daytime and sleeping quarters, and requires direct contact with outside elements for the transition from one to the other part.

The idea of the project is to increase awareness for the reduction of the natural landscape and its limited resources and finding the right approach for creating a balance with the industrial zone.

Before, the place where now the house with green roof stands, it has been just abandoned wasteland where industrial waste has been discharged.
